FAQs

"Sage has been great to work with. When they could not provide something I requested, they were up front about it, and provided other research. They respond promptly, and they deliver on time."

Who are you?

We are a network of professional researchers and interviewers producing custom competitive intelligence reports on a project basis for our clients. Most of our researchers have MBA or PhD credentials.

What industries do you serve?

S|R is industry agnostic, though a significant portion of our business comes from the software industry because of its competitive, head-to-head sales environment. Law firms, consultants and major multinationals also routinely engage our services, which are always tailored to specific intelligence needs.

What kind of information do you provide?

First, we do not broker proprietary information about any company or insider information of any kind. In most cases, our clients want to know what a competitor is planning in order to grow market share and front-lines sales strategies. This type of information can be gleaned from direct interviews with salespeople and other staff-level contacts tasked with implementing strategies.

Other areas we are often asked to investigate include new product releases, pricing changes, hiring initiatives or upcoming promotions, such as special discounting, etc. In addition, we can provide clients with a ground-level view of what competitors or customers are saying about them.

Will my competitor know I've commissioned a report on them?

S|R's proprietary research techniques rely on direct interviews with the target company insiders, but the interviewees never know that the information is being gathered on your behalf. We are here to protect your identity.

Will you provide the names of reference clients?

Nope. Our clients value our discretion, and we do not discuss engagements with third parties.

Can we buy a report commissioned on our company by someone else?

No.

How long have you guys been doing this?

Since 2011, though some of the researchers in our network have been doing this since the 1990s.
